Hannah's Softball Season

Hannah decided to sign up for her 1st sport a couple of months ago since a friend asked her to play softball. Darren and I were both surprised and I made sure that she knew she had to wear a t-shirt that may not be pink and that she would have to run and possibly get dirty. She agreed that she would not get upset about the color of the shirt the team was given to wear and that she would not complain about practicing. She lucked out with the color of the shirt and she rarely complained about going to practices and games.

She knew nothing about "running the bases", batting or throwing a ball when she started and I felt sorry for her coaches. I think she tested their patience with her lack of sports knowledge. They actually took a lot of time with her and made sure she felt successful. She had fun, learned not to run to 1st base with the bat and learned that she had to actually touch the base when she got to it instead of jumping over it. The other parents really got a kick out of her. She is not convinced that she will play again next year!

Her team (the Cheetahs) came in 4th place out of 10 teams so they had a great season!
