Will has been counting the days until his birthday for 6 weeks. He asked us a million times if his "real birthday" was on his birthday. He meant to ask if we are celebrating with his parties on the exact day of his birthday. Since it was a Saturday we were able to this year.
Since Will and I share a birthday, it has been very difficult for him to understand why we are not the same age if our birthdays are on the same day. On the way to his soccer game Saturday morning, I explained to him that I was born in the year 1973 and he was born in the year 2004. It clicked with him immediately and he understood.
Unfortunately he lost his soccer game but Grandma Gail, Grandma Lana and Grandpa Bill all came over after he he opened his presents. He had 18 friends invited to Going Vertical later that afternoon to play football, dodge ball and tug of war. He had a great time and stayed up late putting new legos together.
