American Girl Fashion Show

Hannah loves playing with her "babies". When I received a brochure in the mail regarding the American Girl Fashion Show, I knew I wanted to take Hannah. I thought we go could and watch the show this year and then if she decided she wanted to be a model in the show next year, we could sign up to do that. In between basketball games, Hannah picked out her fanciest dress and we headed out for a girls afternoon. I don't think she would have cared where we went, she just wanted to wear that dress! I love that she loves to dress up.

When we arrived we looked around at all of the auctions and then went to get our food. Hannah had a PB&J uncrustable, chips and a fancy cupcake while I had soup, sandwich and a cupcake. All of the girls bring their American Girl dolls and eat lunch with them as they watch the show. Hannah brought her American Girl bitty baby and was so excited to hold her the whole time.

There were about 40 girls modeling the American Girl clothes and dolls and Hannah took in every one of them. After the show was over and we were walking to the car, I asked her if she would like to be in the show next year. She said "yes mom, I already know all of the moves on the runway so I don't even need to practice!" Hopefully by next year she will have a little friend that we can ask to do it with her. Most people there had a whole table of neighbors or family that all had girls in the show. If not, Hannah and I will just go and enjoy another girl's afternoon.

As I sat there I thought about how I believed I was destined to have all boys (and was fine with that) but we received this beautiful gift of a daughter! I couldn't imagine loving her more than I do already. There are so many things I want to teach her and so many days I want for just her and I. Having Hannah is more than I could ever imagined and the fact that she is in love with the color pink, ruffles, tutus and make-up is just icing on the cake. Today was one of those days that I had always imagined and I will never forget.
