Will's Kindergarten Program

Handsome Will So excited before the concert

Will had his kindergarten program Tuesday night and he was really excited to get dressed up and have everyone there to watch him. Jack and Hannah wanted to go and Max stayed with Samantha (and cried the whole time) so I could video tape.

There are 6 Kindergarten classes so there were a lot of kids. Will did a great job and was very proud of himself. Afterwards, he was able to show Grandma's and Grandpa his classroom. It will be fun for the kids to watch the videos of their concerts as they grow up!

Hunting Spring 2011

Jack feeding the cows

Darren took Jack and Will hunting this weekend with Trent and Grant since they had Friday off school. Jack was going to use his bow to turkey hunt and he was excited. I guess Will was going to watch. They sat in a tent waiting for turkeys to walk by and Jack saw one and took a couple of shot but missed. It sounded like Will spent his time taking naps in the tent. Will coudl sleep anywhere! They went to their favorite pizza place "The Rocket" 2 night in a row and Darren said Will woke up in the middle of the night to play his Ipod. He tells me that he does this at home but I never believed him. Now maybe I will. He said he keeps it under his pillow. I will be checking tonight!

Jack did not get a turkey but was able to ride a dirt bike which he has never done before. He seemed excited to try it out. Will said he also took a ride with Darren. I told him I was glad he did not try it by himself.

Will took these pictures with his Ipod**

Kindergarten Round-up & Crazy Hair Day

Kindergarten Round-up

Hannah went to Kindergarten round-up last week and had a great time. She was most excited about the snack. I did not get any pictures when we arrived at school since I had everyone with me and there were a billion parents in the hallways.

She also had crazy hair day last week at preschool. She wanted 10 ponytails and each one sprayed a different color. We did the 10 ponytails but used the 3 colors that we had under the counter. Max was having a fit reaching for the cans so I sprayed his hair blue. He was very satisfied after he saw it! I always enjoy these "theme days" so it is sad to see them go once Kindergarten arrives. Until then, we will enjoy them!

This & That

We have had a slow couple of weeks around here. Basketball is over, soccer hasn't started and the weather goes from nice to cold frequently. The kids want summer to come and Max stands at the laundry room door and tries to get outside to play. When we take him out, telling him its time to come in is a full-blown screaming fit. I think that there is a lot of sun, water and swing-pushing in my future this summer! Hannah went to a birthday party last weekend and learned how to eat like a princess. She said that you take really small bites. Jack tried it and announced "eating like this would take forever!" It was funny! Hannah has also decided that she would like to be a singer when she grows up. A couple of weeks ago it was Cinderella so it will be interesting to hear what it will be in 6 months.

Will is getting more strong-willed by the day. He is very stubborn and tries to negotiate everything. It will serve him well in many aspects of his life but not currently when it comes to following directions at home and listening. He has also decided that snuggling with mom is not as cool as it use to be and even giving kisses isn't on his list of things to do. He is still very sensitive though and is such a great friend and brother.

Max is a mini-tornado. The kids still fight over playing with him and treat him like he is 6 months old. Sometimes I think he is trying to talk more but then everything just sounds like "dog". He spends most of his day running to find me, grabbing my leg and screaming for me to follow him. He always has something to show me and that is his way off getting me over to see it. He has become a very picky eater and has started to throw the food on the floor he doesn't want (which is mostly everything). He has learned how to climb up onto my makeup bench and likes to play in my drawer full of makeup that he knows how to open. He even knows what brushes go with which compacts!

Hannah has Kindergarten round-up on Thursday and she is so excited. Will is just as excited because he gets the day off. I promised him a special morning with just Max and I at the doughnut shop. Hannah is trying to decide what to wear. It is such a big decision!

Grandma Lana's Birthday

I just ran across these pictures and realized I never posted them! Grandma's birthday was back in February and we took her out to Lazlo's for dinner. The kids were really excited especially when I told them that this was the place where they get dessert with their dinner. Grandma got a special treat for her birthday and the kids all wanted a bite! I am not sure how much grandma and grandpa were able to eat judging from all of their company at their side of the table! It was a fun evening!

Scooter and Capes Oh My!

Super "H" & Super "W"

Hannah and Will come up with some pretty funny games. One day last week is was a little warmer than usual so Will and Hannah decided to save to world on their scooters. They put on their snow boots and capes and off they went. I am not sure that Hannah even had leggings on under her tutu. It definitely wasn't that warm!

American Girl Fashion Show

Hannah loves playing with her "babies". When I received a brochure in the mail regarding the American Girl Fashion Show, I knew I wanted to take Hannah. I thought we go could and watch the show this year and then if she decided she wanted to be a model in the show next year, we could sign up to do that. In between basketball games, Hannah picked out her fanciest dress and we headed out for a girls afternoon. I don't think she would have cared where we went, she just wanted to wear that dress! I love that she loves to dress up.

When we arrived we looked around at all of the auctions and then went to get our food. Hannah had a PB&J uncrustable, chips and a fancy cupcake while I had soup, sandwich and a cupcake. All of the girls bring their American Girl dolls and eat lunch with them as they watch the show. Hannah brought her American Girl bitty baby and was so excited to hold her the whole time.

There were about 40 girls modeling the American Girl clothes and dolls and Hannah took in every one of them. After the show was over and we were walking to the car, I asked her if she would like to be in the show next year. She said "yes mom, I already know all of the moves on the runway so I don't even need to practice!" Hopefully by next year she will have a little friend that we can ask to do it with her. Most people there had a whole table of neighbors or family that all had girls in the show. If not, Hannah and I will just go and enjoy another girl's afternoon.

As I sat there I thought about how I believed I was destined to have all boys (and was fine with that) but we received this beautiful gift of a daughter! I couldn't imagine loving her more than I do already. There are so many things I want to teach her and so many days I want for just her and I. Having Hannah is more than I could ever imagined and the fact that she is in love with the color pink, ruffles, tutus and make-up is just icing on the cake. Today was one of those days that I had always imagined and I will never forget.

3 1st place medals for Basketball this season

Jack has come to the end of his basketball season and had 2 tournaments over the weekend. He played a total of 5 games and won all of them to take 1st place in both tournaments. His team worked so hard and Jack has improved so much. He is taking more shots and make more baskets. He has also made some free throws and is awesome at defense. When the ball is in his area, he will give 100% to try and steal it or block the shot. We hope to get him in a couple of camps this summer so he can continue to improve. He is very proud of all of his medals that he has earned and agreed to take a picture for me. It was fun to see him team so excited!
