The big day had finally come. Hannah had waited almost a full year for this recital. I kept telling her it was her special day and she smiled ear to ear! Darren changed his big trip so he could be there and I am happy he did. We left Max with a sitter and took Jack and Will with us. Everybody was there, even Jeff made the drive downtown to attend.
She was all dressed and ready with makeup on and we waited for her group to be called backstage. They danced number 4 and 23 out of 50 dances. We were in the 4th row and were not allowed to take pictures or video so the pictures are from the times in between while we waited.
After the recital was over Darren gave her a dozen red roses and her face just lit up. She carried them around with her for the next couple of hours and then we put them in a vase on her nightstand in her room. It was very special to her that they came from dad I think. I am really happy that he was there. I think she will always remember that. She also received flowers from grandma and grandpa and a makeup set from grandma. She really had a great day and told me that she wanted to wear her recital outfit to church on Mother's Day! That would have received some looks for sure!
