Jack with his class the last week of school

What a busy week!

Jack's last day of school was Wednesday and he had a picnic at one of the 2nd grade teacher's houses. It was a nice day and they had a great time. Max, Hannah and I went for an hour before we had to pick up Will. They also had movie day, a talent show, and outdoor fun day. Jack had a great year and we are so proud of him so working so hard. He was ready for summer break before starting his year as a 3rd grader!

Hannah had her last day on Thursday and they had "bike day". She was very excited to bring her bike and helmet and ride around for 2.5 hours! She said goodbye to her 2 teachers and all of her new friends. She really opened up as the year went on and became much more independent. She will be ready to go 3 days a week next year in the 4 year old program. It is really hard for me to believe that she will go to kindergarten next year.

Will's last day of school was Friday, so we were all able to go to his graduation. The 2 High 5 classes walked in, sang 6 songs, recited 2 poems and brought mom and dad a gift. He has grown so much and we are so proud that he is such a good little person. He has a big heart and genuinely cares about people. It is very sad for me to think about his first day of kindergarten but excited for him to begin a new journey.

Max had a busy week going back and forth to everyone's field trips, parties and activities. He is a little trooper and rarely complains! He is excited for a quieter summer.

Will's Soccer Trophy

Will had his last soccer games Mondayand was very excited that the coach bought each of the kids trophy's and had their names put on them. They also received a medal. Will was very proud. He had a great time and is a hard-working player. He also started T-ball this week. He has no clue (along with all of the other kids) what he is doing but he will pick it up fast!

Max's Tubes

Before the Tubes
Before the tubes
After the tubes

After many ear infections, Max had tubes put in his ears on Wednesday. It was a quick 10 minute procedure and he came back holding a new bear. The Dr. said that both of his ears were filled with fluid and that it would likely take him a few days to get adjusted to hearing better. She said everything would seem loud to him. So far he seems to be doing fine although he still is touching them. We go back in a week to see how everything looks.

Hunting for Bears -Day 8

I could just eat him!
Look at those angels!

Darren has now been gone 8 days and Will asked if he could see a picture of him this morning. Will has also asked if dad was ever coming back and why his phones do not work. Will has asked me to call dad at least 20 times. Will told me to never leave him for 8 days.
Jack stopped telling me he wanted dad to come home about 4 days ago. Hannah has not asked anything but she did say that she did not want dad to bring a bear home because it would eat her! Avery looks a little sad but I have been throwing quite a few tennis balls lately. I would just like 3 days on a warm beach all by myself and maybe a full-nights sleep. Luckily we have been really busy so the past week has gone fast!

The pictures are from Max's 1st french fry at McDonald's!

Jack's School Carnival

Hannah on the big boat slide

Here she comes!
Jack in the human bowling ball!
Rolling, Rolling, Rolling...

Will or "Batman"!!
Jack as "Human Velcro"
Hilarious!
I took the kids to Jack's "Last Blast Carnival" and like last year, the kids had a blast! We hit the face painting first since last year we waited 1 hour to get Will and Hannah's faces painted. Will wanted Batman and Hannah wanted Hello Kitty. They did not have Hello Kitty so she settled for a rainbow and heart.

Jack took off with his friends and did the human velcro and human bowling. It was really funny to watch and he thought they were both great!

Will and Hannah liked the games and the bounce houses. I don't think all 3 of them have fallen asleep so fast in a long time.

A Happy Mother's Day!

Cooking Pancakes

The 2 Cooks
My Large Mothers Day Card!
Getting into position

What a great day! The kids made me MANY handmade cards that were all so thought out and beautiful. They also made me gifts at school and a GIANT card banner that was hanging on my garage door when they brought me outside! Darren had them each paint one section of it and it looks like they had fun!

We went to church, then over the Bill and Lana's for brunch. Jack was in charge of cooking the croissant sandwiches and pancakes. He had a great time with Grandpa and topped it all of with cooking a HUGE pancake. Will and him tried to eat it. Grandma Gail, Laurie and the girls, and Brandy and Jeff all were there too so it was nice to spend the afternoon with everyone.

(I am not sure how I missed taking pictures of everyone.)

Hannah's Dance Recital

The big day had finally come. Hannah had waited almost a full year for this recital. I kept telling her it was her special day and she smiled ear to ear! Darren changed his big trip so he could be there and I am happy he did. We left Max with a sitter and took Jack and Will with us. Everybody was there, even Jeff made the drive downtown to attend.

She was all dressed and ready with makeup on and we waited for her group to be called backstage. They danced number 4 and 23 out of 50 dances. We were in the 4th row and were not allowed to take pictures or video so the pictures are from the times in between while we waited.

After the recital was over Darren gave her a dozen red roses and her face just lit up. She carried them around with her for the next couple of hours and then we put them in a vase on her nightstand in her room. It was very special to her that they came from dad I think. I am really happy that he was there. I think she will always remember that. She also received flowers from grandma and grandpa and a makeup set from grandma. She really had a great day and told me that she wanted to wear her recital outfit to church on Mother's Day! That would have received some looks for sure!
