Max

Max "borrowed" the batman build-a-bear outfit from Will's room while he was at school and dressed up in his batman to match. He fed "baby-batman" a snack and flew around the kitchen all afternoon with their capes.

When I picked Max up from school last week, his teacher gave me the note above that states he was bitten by another boy. Max didn't want to talk about it but the teachers said they tried to hold him and give him ice and he refused. He wasn't crying and didn't even complain but they saw a mark so assumed it must have hurt. They felt really bad.

While we were waiting at the doctors office to get an ear infection diagnosis, Max told me to take picture of his funny faces. After about 20, that got old he decided to keep his favorites and delete the rest. The above pictures he thought were keepers!

"When I am 100" by: Will Brewer

Will brought home the cutest project any of the kids have ever done. On their hundredth day of school yesterday, Will's teacher had each child draw a picture of what they think they will look like when they are 100 and what they will be doing.

Will wrote:
"When I am 100 years old I will have glasses still. I will have hair only on the sides. I will have bushy eyebrows with a smile on my face. I would still like to shoot a couple of goals in a soccer net."

I love the part where he says he will have a smile on his face. That is so Will! I will keep this until I get really old and then give it to him!

Girl's Afternoon

Hannah and I spent the afternoon together and it was great to have time to talk with her and hold hands!   We spent some time at Sephora and as you can tell from the pictures, she tried on every bit of makeup so could get her hands on. She also tried many perfumes and did not see a problem with spraying one after another until she found the bottle that looked the fanciest. She then announced it was her favorite!
We had hot chocolate and talked about what she wanted to be when she grew up. She told me about the nice girls in her class and the "mean" girls. They made New Years Resolutions at school and we talked about how much I loved hers!
Hannah's Resolutions:
Eating healthier
Brushing her teeth
Be better at dance
Keep track of stuff
Clean my room
Her favorite memory of 2012 was - Making Cookies!

Baby Drew

We met Scott, Jamie and Drew at Dave & Busters for some dinner and video games. I had no idea that it was an actual huge arcade on one side and a restaurant on the other. The kids had a blast and after winning a million tickets, they cashed in for their prizes. Max ended the night running into a door jam and coming home with a huge knot on his forehead. They kids could not get enough of "baby Drew" as they call him. He is getting so big and is now on the move!

Fun!

Max & Claire

The "E" Hotel

For the past 3 years Laurie and I have taken the kids for a night at Embassy Suites the week between Christmas and New Years. They now look forward to it and ask when we are going to the "E" hotel!
They like to swim, mostly in the hot tub, eat and drink during happy hour and ride the elevators.

Max was not going to be left out (brought home to sleep) this year so he packed his bag just like the other kids. He had no idea why everyone was running around excited but he went with it. He told me he is coming next time too!

Darren joined us for happy hour and took the kids in the hot tub again after dinner!

Ice Skating

I have been wanting to take the kids ice skating for a couple of years and never did get around to doing it until this year. My dad always took us when we were kids and I wanted our kids to be able to experience it too. Will and Hannah went with me a few days before Christmas and loved it! Will picked it up really fast and wanted to stay for hours. Hannah was a little more cautious but after an hour she was letting go of the wall!

The week after Christmas we went again and brought Darren, Max and Jack. Darren had never ice skated before in his life and Jack was not too excited to try. Darren picked it up quickly and if Jack would have let go of the wall, I know that he could have caught on also. Darren and I told him he needed to get out there and learn so he could take his girlfriend ice skating in 10 years!

Max was really excited but it was a lot of work to keep him standing up! He was just as happy running around on his skates outside of the ice rink. We will definitely make it a yearly event!
