Turbo Math, Basektball and 4-wheeling

Jack has worked so hard over the past 2 years trying to earn his Extreme Math Ribbon. He is now within 2 ribbons of reaching his goal. You must correctly answer 200 addition/subtraction/multiplication/division problems in 2 minutes to obtain each level of ribbon. When you complete each level twice, you earn the quarterly pizza party at pizza hut. He surprised us last week and came home with his first division ribbon. Only 2 more to go!
Jack has also been riding his 4-wheeler a lot with Darren. Darren took the above picture while they were riding in the corn fields. They make me nervous go so fast and jumping so high!
Will ended his 1st ever basketball season and enjoyed it although not as much as soccer. He was proud of his medal!
Jack's basketball team made it to the championship game yesterday and lost by a few baskets. They gave it their all!

Visit with Santa

We went to HDR's children's party at the Children's Museum last weekend so the kids could see Santa. Jack was going to stay home but decided that he would come! We really thought Max would scream and run but he surprised us all and couldn't wait to climb up on his lap. He told Santa multiple times that he wanted a puppy, preferably a blue puppy. I am not sure what Santa said because I was taking pictures but I don't think that Santa is bringing a live puppy this year! Santa should probably start searching for a stuffed blue one though! Hannah was still not sure about getting too close but since Max lived through it she decided should could get closer.

Eating on the stage

Hannah & Nora

Hannah talked about me coming to eat lunch with her at school for days. When parents come to eat with their kids, they are allowed to eat on a table on the stage and get to pick a friend to go with them. It is a big deal to them. I brought her McDonald's and she picked Nora to eat on stage with. They were really excited and even more excited to go get her special birthday ice cream from the lunch room. Hannah's Kindergarten teacher helps each child bake their own cake on their birthday. They then are able to frost it and add sprinkles. She brought it home and was very proud of it. Darren ate some of it but it did not look very good!

Hannah's Fairy Friend Party

On December 11th, Hannah turned 6! She was so excited to have her friends over. She decided on a "fairy" party. We bought little paper mache houses and spray painted them silver. The girls used feathers, jewels and foam fairy stickers to decorate them. Hannah and I also made fairies to go in each house. We also played a couple of games and ate. It was a lot of work for a couple of hours but I think everyone had fun and Hannah felt special on her big day!

The next day we had Hannah's family party. She played with Olivia and Clarie and decided that she wanted to eat a Popsicle instead of her huge cake. She now has enough crafts for the next few months at least! Grandmas, grandpa, Paul & Mary, Susan & John, Jeff and Laurie all came over to celebrate with her. She has such a big weekend that Monday morning was a little whiny getting ready for school!
