Max's Baptism

Steve and Kristi with Max

Jeff & Laurie - Max's godparents

Grandma Lana with Braxton and Hannah

Max was baptized on Sunday and it was nice to have all of our family here. Laurie and Jeff were the godparents and Max slept through the whole thing. The kids did a good job of standing up with us quietly and behaving while we were in the front row (we NEVER sit in the front row!)

We are in the process of joining a new church that is in Gretna and had Max baptized there. Darren and I decided that we should find a church that is close to our house and that will give the kids a better chance to be with their friends and get to know new kids from the area while in Sunday school. We tried out 2 churches over the summer and decided on one. We will join the new member class in October. We really like the pastor and feel pretty comfortable there. Will wants to go back to the old church since they have doughnuts after the services! Will would eat doughnuts for every meal if he could.

Just before leaving for dinner
Jack started school last Thursday and he seems glad to be back with his friends. He was sleeping in until 10am each morning and going to bed late all summer so getting up at 7am has been an adjustment for him and me! I was only able to get a couple of pictures of the 1st day because he was not too happy with me bringing the camera into school to drop him off!
Jack starts football practice tonight and his games in a couple of weeks. Darren is going to take him and hopefully he will catch on quickly. Will starts soccer next week and Hannah will start dance the 1st week of September.

Max is doing great and even sleeping better than the other kids ever did. He gets A LOT of attention from Jack, Will and Hannah. They beg to hold him from the minute they wake up until the minute they go to bed.

He is getting bigger each day and I try to hold him as much as possible before my baby is too big. I don't want to think about him walking and talking yet. I want these nights of snuggling and sleeping on me to last forever.
Hannah told me this morning that when she get older like me and is a mommy, that she wants to have 7 babies and that she would feed them just like I do and rock them all of the time. I asked her if I could come to her house and help. She smiled and said yes. I just can't even describe how much I love that little girl. She has a big heart and is so generous.

Darren and I celebrated our 10th anniversary last Friday night. Lana watched the kids and we went out for a great dinner. I even left Max behind for a couple of hours. Darren brought home 2 dozen roses for me and a dozen for Hannah. Hannah just lights up when dad brings her flowers! I had some awesome shrimp and cheesecake and Darren had a steak of course. He also gave me a second band for my wedding ring. I am really excited about it and need to go drop my ring off so they can make the band!! I just need to find 1 hour where I can go alone first! I can't believe we have been married 10 years. It really has gone fast. Darren is such a great dad and the kids say he is the fun one. They are always asking if it is Saturday so they can be with dad. We are so blessed with everything we have been given and our healthy children. We hope we have 10 more years just like the previous ones but maybe with a little more sleep!

It's a Boy!

Max Earl Brewer was born August 3rd weighing 6lbs 11oz. He has a lot of dark hair like Hannah did and I think he looks like Will. The kids LOVE him and want to hold him constantly. Hannah is getting use to the fact that it is boy and not the sister that she had wanted. She has been so good at waiting for her turn and helping me out. I do feel bad for her but I told her that since we are the only girls, that we will be able to do special things together.

Jack showed really no interest during the entire time I was pregnant so I was surprised that he has taken such a huge interest in Max. I am so happy that he is so good with him and careful with him.

Will has also been excited to hold Max but he is the one to watch. When I am not looking he will try to pick him up and when he is done holding him, he just pushes him off. He wants to pick out his sleeper countless times a day and cries if he does not get to turn the mobile on. He means well but just get worked up quickly if he is not in the center of the action.

We are so happy that Max is finally here and that he is healthy and eating well!

Children's Museum

While Jack was at Camp last week, I took Hannah, Will and Livvy to the Children's Museum one morning. All Will has talked about for days is getting his face painted like Spiderman so that is were we headed first. They did not have "black" face paint so that put a damper on our design but Will did not care. He was ok with silver! Livvy wanted hearts and Hannah did not want anything. Will wanted his wiped off within a couple of hours because it itched but he was glad we took the picture!

Fontanelle Forest

Jack spent a week at Fontanelle Forest Camp last week. It was called "Boys in the Woods". They spent the week hiking, looking at animals and learning a lot about the outdoors. The weather was perfect and he always has a great time. This was his 4th year going and each year he learns so much. He has such a thirst for learning about animals and he soaks it all up while he is there. He use to want to only work with dad when he grew up but now he primarily talks about working with animals. Out house would be full of every kind if he had his way!

Hannah's Dance Class

Hannah had her last summer dance class last week and parent's were able to watch. Darren and I were so proud of her for doing everything she was suppose to do. She sure does put on an act for me at home being so needy because when we have put her in vacation bible school, dance etc.. she just walks in and acts like little miss independent which is great to see.

Many of the pictures were taken through the window so they are blurry. We have signed up for Fall and Hannah is excited. She wants a tutu with glitter on it!
