Grandma's Lana's Birthday

Sunday we celebrated Grandma Lana's birthday with dinner and the Wii. The kids were very wound up and just wanted to climb on grandpa and ask for piggy back rides. Jack played grandma on the Wii and it was fun to watch. She did really well and even beat Jack on boxing which is difficult to do.
Jack is doing really well in school and we were told a couple of weeks ago that he is reading at a 2nd grade level. This was great news considering at the end of last year he was behind. He works so hard to keep up and it is great to hear him read and see the pride on his face. I am really proud of his and we can't say enough good things about his teacher and his school in general.
Will could go to kindergarten next year but with his October birthday, we are holding him back another year. He really wants to go to "Jack's school" but it won't hurt him to have another year of growing. He will go to High 5 next year and Hannah will go to 3's preschool.
Hannah is really funny lately. She is sassy and while that shouldn't be funny, it is hard to keep a straight face. She tells me daily that Jack and Will make her cry and that when she grows up she is going to be Cinderella. Hannah's whole life revolves around the Disney Princesses and whether or not her hair and outfit look like Cinderella's. While this was fun at the beginning, it now turns into battle over wardrobe some mornings. She is happiest in a dress and tights and don't try to tell her that a skirt is the same thing as a dress!
My mom, sister and I are attending the Celine Dion concert this week. My mom has had the tickets for over a year now so she is looking forward to the evening. Hopefully I will have circus pictures this weekend!

Snow Day & Randoms of Hannah

The kids had a snow day last Friday and they were excited to finally be able to use their sleds. Even Hannah wanted to be bundled up so she could go out and "eat snow". I went out with the kids to try and build a snowman and the snow wouldn't stick so we ended up sledding. Darren plowed a couple of tracks down the front hill and the boys had a blast. They were going pretty fast racing each other and Darren would meet them at the bottom of the hill for a ride on the Ranger to the top again. I lost track of how many times they went down but it was a lot.
Jack is no longer my photogentic son. He runs from the camera or makes a werid face. Hannah has now taken over his spot as wanting to be in front of the camera for me therefore her are some shots of our latest shoot! Will is still a pretty willing subject depending on my timing.

Olivia's Birthday & Will's V-day Party

I am a little behind at posting but last weekend was Olivia's Birthday party. She turned 5 and of course had a princess party. She kids had a great time and Livvy loved all of her many gifts. Claire is now walking and her hair is hilarious. It sticks straight up like a mohawk and when she laughs the kids think she is funny.
Will had his Valentines day party on Wednesday and looked forward to it all week. He decided on "Cars" Lightning McQueen valentines because they came with tattoos. I helped at his party and they did a few crafts and ate heart shaped Krispy Creme doughnuts. He was just beaming on the way home with his sack filled with Valentines. I decided that I could either drag it out and let him eat a couple of pieces of candy a day or just let him down it all and be done with it. I decided to just let him eat as much as he wanted that day.
Jack was suppose to have his party on Friday the 13th, but school was cancelled because of snow so now it is not until this Friday. Jack was not big into Valentines day so he was not disappointed. Hopefully I will get a picture or two. 7 years olds are not very into their mom walking around their friends snapping a camera so we will see!

The Flu found us!

Last Friday I had my bag packed to take off for KC for the weekend to visit a friend. It would be my yearly 48 hours away from the kids and I was excited. I dropped Jack off at school and drove to Will's school where I would drop him off and take Hannah into "moms day out". Darren was then going to pick them up at 11:30 and Jack up at 3:30. As we pulled into Will's school parking lot, Hannah threw up everywhere. I took her home to get her cleaned up and Will's teacher then called saying that he felt sick. Darren wnet to pick him up and he threw up on the way home in Darren's car. I decided a couple of hours later that as bad as I felt leaving them sick, I had this planned and should go. Darren did fine on his own and when I got back on Sunday night, Jack started vomitting. I then got the dreaded flu on Wed afternoon and Saturday Darren came down with it. The kids were home most of last week but we are all back at it this week!
